Animated org chart created for a video commissioned by a group opposed to Atlanta's Cop City development. The chart shows the connections between the organizations and prominent boosters funding and supporting the project.
The director wanted a chart that he could edit and re-time as needed, so I built an editable, expression-driven rig incorporating responsive text boxes and dynamic node connections that animate on using layer in-points rather than keyframes to keep things as simple as possible.
One of my secret joys as a motion designer is to take boring business diagrams like this one and elevate them through subtle pieces of animated flair (like how the boxes build on here). I also enjoy the technical challenge of building rigs that enable a non-expert to do what they need to do with minimal effort while keeping everything looking the way I want it to.
